35th annual conference of the U.A.E. - Union des Avocats Européens / European Lawyers' Union

Morais Leitão sponsors the Annual Congress of the U.A.E. - Union des Avocats Européens / European Lawyers' Union, which this year will take place on July 1st and 2nd in the Porto.

The U.A.E. is currently headed by Pedro de Gouveia e Melo, partner at Morais Leitão, where he is a member of the European and Competition team.

The Annual Congress is the main event of the organization, welcoming a vast group of the main professionals in EU law, as well as academics, researchers, representatives of the EU and national institutions and members of the business community around a theme of interest.

This year, in its 35th edition, the EU Congress is dedicated to the digital package, discussing the Regulation of the Digital Space - the Digital Services Regulation (DSA) and the Digital Markets Regulation (DMA). This is one of the most important topics on the EU agenda which will have a major impact during the coming years, both in the legal community.

After the European Parliament and the Council recently reached a provisional agreement on the DMA and DSA, final approval is expected soon. The conference is thus a great opportunity to discuss the impact of the reform and analyse the proposed changes in the digital and media landscape, but also to assess the effects of the new regulation on our society.
