Claudia Santos Cruz speaks at the IBA ESG Accelerator Programme on Just Transition and Climate Change

Claudia Santos Cruz, partner at Morais Leitão, Vice-Chair of the IBA African Regional Forum and Officer of the IBA Oil & Gas Committee, will be one of the speakers at Session 5 of the IBA ESG Accelerator Programme – Climate Change, Nature and Just Transition, taking place on 19 February 2025.

In this session, Claudia Santos Cruz will consider the challenges and opportunities of the transition to a low-carbon economy in Africa, focusing on Angola, Mozambique, and Cape Verde. Her contribution will emphasize the need to tailor just transition strategies to the specific realities of each country, highlighting that there is no one-size-fits-all model for the African region.

The session will also feature other legal experts from across Africa, fostering a crucial discussion on regulatory trends and the impact of climate transition on regional and international markets.
