Colloquium "The Future of the European Union: the significance of the vote on 25 May"
Pedro de Gouveia e Melo, senior lawyer of Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva, coordinates with José Lobo Moutinho the colloquium "The Future of the European Union: the significance of the vote on 25 May".
The colloquium "The Future of the European Union: the significance of the vote on 25 May", organised by the Católica Research Centre for the Future of Law and by the Portuguese European Law Association (APDE), takes place on 15 May (Thursday) from 5 pm in Auditorium 1 on the premises of the Portuguese Catholic University, Palma de Cima, Lisboa.
Recognizing that the subject of the European elections deserves a veritable citizens’ debate, the aim of this initiative is to ensure a non-partisan and an independent discussion, addressed to a public interested in attending a serious and a rigorous debate, to benefit from the historical, political, economic and social context that scientists, intellectuals, politicians and journalists with wide-ranging backgrounds and experience will provide.
This initiative also aims to gain the attention of the university (particularly university students, some of whom will be voting this year for the first time), for proactive participation in the next European Parliament elections, especially when the rates of abstention in European elections are increasing.
Entrance is free, but registration is required.
