David Silva Ramalho comments to Jornal I on fraud on online shopping platforms

David Silva Ramalho, in a commentary for Jornal I, points out that the increase in fraud on online shopping platforms such as Temu and Shein is worrying, especially given the large number of users that these platforms attract. The lawyer explains that scams often occur on fraudulent websites posing as legitimate platforms, and that attackers use phishing campaigns to capture user data.

‘Shein and Temu, due to their large size, are an obvious target for phishing campaigns. And it's easy to see why: even if the attackers don't know who the users of each specific platform are (and sometimes they do), the greater the number of users, the more likely it is that a generic phishing campaign, aimed at an indiscriminate set of addresses, will reach several users of these platforms,’ says David Silva Ramalho.
