Filipe Lowndes Marques, a partner at Morais Leitão and a member of its Board of Directors, spoke to the Financial Times about Morais Leitão's role in the flight of the artists, and their families, of the Afghanistan National Institute of Music (ANIM) from Kabul to Lisbon, a story that has now found a happy ending in Portugal.
The orchestra has already returned to perform, with its members and families safe after the Taliban takeover in 2021, which was followed by strict censorship of music in Afghanistan, at the risk of their lives.
