Isabel Valente Dias will participate, as a Portuguese expert of the European Labour Law Network in the Conference on “Enforcing EU Labour Rights”, organised by the European Centre of Expertise (ECE) in the field of Labour Law, on behalf of the Directorate-General (DG) for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission, that will take place in Brussels on 28 May 2024.
The conference will be attended by representatives of the European Commission, ministerial representatives of the Member States, representatives of national authorities and social partners of Member States, as well as an expert in the field of the labour law from each Member State.
The aim of this conference is to allow to reflect and discuss important matters related to the EU labour law, focusing in particular the following topics:
- Application of EU labour law: legal foundations and the role of the Court of Justice of the EU;
- The future of law enforcement: options and possibilities for action;
- The role of collective interest representatives in enforcing EU labour rights;
- Practical challenges of EU labour law enforcement.
