Joana Granadeiro, Senior Associate in the Litigation and Arbitration team, will be the speaker for the module 'International Dispute Resolution: Arbitration' at the 20th edition of the ICC Portugal International Trade Course, to be held from 9 to 11 April. The module will cover the main alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in international trade, with a focus on arbitration and a practical analysis of the ICC Rules.
In the context of a globalised economy, where international trade disputes are increasingly common, the resolution of these disputes is vital to both trade and investment. This module will highlight the role of the ICC's dispute resolution services, which offer a variety of procedures such as mediation, arbitration, expert determination, dispute boards and the DOCDEX system, and will analyse how the ICC's current arbitration rules respond to the increasing complexity of commercial transactions and the global demand for greater speed and economic efficiency.
This module is part of a programme designed to provide businesses and professionals with practical tools in line with the international standards set by the ICC.
