João Tiago Silveira will be one of the guest speakers at the 1st Regional Law Congress to be held on 8 and 9 April in Amphitheatre 6 of the Law Faculty of the University of Lisbon. The Morais Leitão partner will speak on the panel "Conflicts between national and regional administrative regulations", scheduled for 8 April at 14:30, as part of the Administrative Law module.
Organised by the Núcleo de Estudantes das Regiões Autónomas (NERA), in partnership with the European Law Students Association (ELSA), the Institute of Legal and Political Sciences and the Faculty itself, the congress offers two days of reflection on the challenges and prospects of regional autonomy in Portugal.
The programme includes topics such as the legislative competence of the Autonomous Regions, the role of the Representative of the Republic, the future of the Regional Finance Law and paradiplomacy, bringing together leading academics, lawyers and institutional representatives.
