Manuel Freitas Pita elected President of the APCINM - Association of Professionals of the International Business Centre of Madeira

Manuel Freitas Pita, senior associate with Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva and resident lawyer in charge of the firm’s Madeira Office, was elected president of the APCINM - Association of Professionals of the International Business Centre of Madeira for the period 2009-2011.
Manuel Freitas Pita replaces João Fernandes on the APCINM’s board. When elected the new president stated that “my team will keep supporting the actions of the International Business Centre of Madeira and his professionals”.

Manuel Freitas Pita joined the firm in 2000.  He is currently a member of the firm’s tax team. His main areas of practice include tax, corporate and financial law, particularly mergers and acquisitions, international agreements, and securities law. He has also developed an expertise in the incorporation and management of companies licensed to operate in the IBC of Madeira.  He also provides legal assistance to them. From January to December 2005 Manuel Freitas Pita worked for a finance institution of the European Union (BEI) in Luxembourg.
