Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva publishes the first volume of the “MLGTS Book Collection”

On May 18  Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva (MLGTS) in cooperation with the publisher Almedina will officially launch the first volume of the “MLGTS Book Collection”, which will be presented by partners Miguel Galvão Teles and Carlos Botelho Moniz.  The event will proudly host Professor Abel Mateus, former President of the National Compettiton Authority, who will give a lecture on “Merger Control in Portugal” .

At the end of year 2008, MLGTS and the publisher Almedina entered into a Partnership Agreement which formalizes the creation and launching of the “MLGTS Book Collection”.
This Partnership Agreement is one of a kind in the legal area in Portugal. It combines the academic and professional experience of MLGTS’ lawyers with the scientific rigor which characterizes the editorial policy of Almedina.

The first book of the “MLGTS Book Collection” called “Merger control in Portugal – the decisional practice of the Competition Authority under Law 18/2003, June 11” is signed by lawyers Margarida Rosado da Fonseca and Luís do Nascimento Ferreira.
This book summarizes the main material and formal features of the Portuguese merger control procedure and analyses the Competition Authority’s decisional practice during the first five years of application of the current Competition Act. Thus, this book follows a predominately practical approach to this theme and aims to facilitate the study of an area of Law in which there is a dearth of literature  in Portugal.
