Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva reinforced the team with the recruitment of Assunção Cristas, Catarina Levy Osório, Martim Krupenski (all for the corporate and commercial team) and Carla Osório de Castro (litigation and arbitration team).
With these new recruits the number of lawyers has risen to 162 in the Lisbon, Oporto and Funchal offices.
Assunção Cristas, born in Luanda, Angola, is a professor at Lisbon University Law School. She teaches several subjects in the area of private law. From 2002 to 2005 she was accountable to the Legal Policy and Planning Office of the Ministry of Justice and since September, 2009,she has been a deputy at the Assembly of the Portuguese Republic.
Catarina Levy Osório, also born in Angola and of Angolan nationality, has prior experience in a major international consulting firm and another law firm, where she acquired relevant experience in Angolan law and the Angolan market. She has advised clients on foreign investment, tax and labor law in that jurisdiction. She is a member of the Angolan and Portuguese Bar Associations.
Martim Krupenski now has returned to the firm where he did his legal training. He has a general commercial and corporate practice and has been involved in several transactions of company restructuring in particular in mergers and acquisitions of companies and structuring of international partnerships. A substantial part of his work involves cross-border transactions. Martim has also been involved in several takeovers in different sectors and provides general legal advice to companies mainly in the areas of commercial, corporate and securities law.
Carla Osório de Castro has come to reinforce the litigation and arbitration team of the Oporto Office. She has a strong background in court cases. She has advised various national clients in numerous legal suits in the areas of commercial, civil and misdemeanor litigation.
