On 29 October, 40 Under Forty prizes will be awarded, as usual, by Iberian Lawyer magazine. They distinguish young legal talent working in law firms or in legal departments of companies.
The shortlist was announced yesterday, and Morais Leitão is once again in the spotlight, with individual names in all categories of the awards.
As last year, there are 40 awards, distributed between 20 teams and 20 individual lawyers. The shortlist includes Joana Galvão Teles (arbitration), Maria Soares do Lago (banking and finance), Marisa Larguinho (capital markets), Joana Abreu (energy), Luís Nascimento Ferreira (European and competition), Mariana Solá de Albuquerque (fintech), Vasco Xavier Mesquita (infrastructures), Nuno Gundar da Cruz (restructuring and insolvency), Margarida Torres Gama (insurance and M&A), Ricardo Nascimento Ferreira (IP/TMT and life sciences and pharma), Isabel Valente Dias (employment), Sofia Vaz Sampaio (litigation), Diana Ribeiro Duarte (private equity), Rui Ribeiro Lima (public), Andreia Bento Simões (real estate), Pedro Cruz Gonçalves (start-up), Miguel Cortez Pimentel (tax), Tiago Geraldo, João Lima Cluny, Duarte Santana Lopes (ex-aequo in white-collar crime).
