Morais Leitão inaugurates its new auditorium in Porto with a Conference on Criminal Law
Morais Leitão inaugurates its new auditorium in the Porto office with a Conference on Criminal Law, promoted by the Criminal, Regulatory Offenses and Compliance Department and the Miguel Galvão Teles Institute (IMGT), on October 17. The event brings together leading figures from the national legal scene to discuss key issues on the anti-corruption agenda.
The afternoon debate will begin with a welcome from Bernardo Lobo Xavier and Rui Patrício, from Morais Leitão, and opening speeches focused on the topic “Does something change or does everything stay the same? The new anti-corruption agenda”, by José Mouraz Lopes, Judge-Counsellor of the Court of Auditors, and Tiago Félix da Costa of Morais Leitão.
This will be followed by a round table on “Strategy, prevention, repression and capacity building in the fight against corruption”, chaired by David Silva Ramalho, from Morais Leitão, with the participation of Cláudia Cruz Santos, MP and Associate Professor at the Law Faculty of the University of Coimbra, Artur Marques, lawyer, Nuno Serdoura dos Santos, Public Prosecutor, Duarte Santana Lopes and Tiago Monfort, from Morais Leitão.
Tiago Geraldo, from Morais Leitão, will moderate the next panel, entitled “Corruption: mega-processes, mega-regimes and mega-communication”, with contributions from Manuel da Costa Andrade, retired full professor and former President of the Constitutional Court, João Matos Viana, from Morais Leitão, and Rita Marrafa de Carvalho, journalist.
Eduardo Verde Pinho, from Morais Leitão, will close the event, concluding an afternoon of in-depth reflection on the challenges and strategies in the fight against corruption in Portugal.
This conference, scheduled for October 17, marks the official opening of the new space in Porto and reflects Morais Leitão’s commitment to promoting relevant and topical debates in the legal field. Entry is reserved and subject to confirmation.
