Morais Leitão lawyers on the Supreme Moot Court Jury

Nicole Fortunato, Inês F. Neves and Joana Maria Andion are on the jury of the 7th edition of the Supreme Moot Court of Justice, one of ELSA Portugal's most prestigious academic projects, which aims to bring law students closer to legal practice and the workings of the Portuguese legal system. The event is organised by ELSA Portugal.

Nicole Fortunato and Joana Maria Andion are part of the jury for the South Regional Round, which takes place on 7 March at the Lisbon Court of Appeal, while Inês F. Neves was a juror for the Centre-North Regional Round, which took place on 3 March at the Porto Court of Appeal.

The Supreme Moot Court of Justice is a trial simulation based on a fictitious case, where the participating teams demonstrate their argumentative and legal skills in front of a jury made up of professionals from the sector. Teams are judged on their argumentation and legal mastery and can guarantee passage to the Final Round, which takes place at the Supreme Court of Justice in April. The winning team will also have the opportunity to do a short-term internship in the Judicial Courts of the Portuguese Comarcas.

This year's case focuses on Fundamental Rights, Intellectual Property and Artificial Intelligence, a topic of growing relevance and impact in today's legal landscape. The plot of the case was drawn up by the Superior Council of the Judiciary, guaranteeing a high technical standard and challenging participants to reflect on the legal complexities of these areas.
