Morais Leitão's Digital Defence team, in collaboration with Crystal Intelligence, will organise the ‘Cybercrime and Cryptocurrencies’ conference on November 11, 2024, at the João Morais Leitão Auditorium in Lisbon. The event will address the latest trends in cryptocurrency crime and the challenges in investigating them, as well as the relationship between cryptocurrencies and the prevention of money laundering.
The opening session will be led by Tiago Félix da Costa, a partner at Morais Leitão, and Tiburcio Sanz, from Crystal Intelligence. In the first session, Judge Cláudia Pina will talk about new trends in cybercrime, followed by Nuno Serdoura dos Santos, Public Prosecutor, who will address the issue of cybercrime and cryptocurrencies. David Silva Ramalho, managing associate at Morais Leitão, will discuss criminal investigation in cases involving cyber-currencies.
Nuno Igreja Matos, associate at Morais Leitão, will analyse the prevention of money laundering through cryptocurrencies. Federico Paesano, from Crystal Intelligence, will conclude with a session dedicated to cryptocurrency tracing, which will include a live simulation organised jointly with Crystal Intelligence and Morais Leitão.
Partner Rui Patrício will make the closing remarks of this conference on cryptocurrencies.
