In the context of the WebSummit 2022 edition, Nicole Fortunato, lawyer at Morais Leitão, exclusive member for Portugal of PrivacyRules, participated in a conversation about anonymity, privacy and regulation in the Web3 sector.
With this action, the aim was to discuss how anonymity, privacy and regulation may impact Web3 and what kind of questions may be raised, either by investors or project founders, in a near future.
As a result of the session, and given the complexity of the topic, it was concluded that the level of governmental involvement for the regulation of the sector will inevitably have to increase, and also that the interaction between government and companies on the ground may become a new business opportunity.
