“The figure of the expert witness in the context of medical civil actions: fact or fiction?” is the title of the paper that allowed Nuno Gundar da Cruz to become one of the winners of the ELSA Essay Competition, that is an international competition organised by ELSA- International Association of Law Students. This year’s theme was “Medical responsibility”. The award was given by the Centre for Biomedical Law of the Law Faculty of the University of Coimbra.
Nuno Gundar da Cruz, an associate of the litigation and arbitration team of Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva, has completed postgraduate studies in Medicinal Responsibility at the Centre for Biomedical Law of the Law Faculty of the University of Coimbra. He is one of the members of the team that deals with all issues related to medical actions, medical responsibilities, the responsibility of those who render public health services, health professionals, evidence concerning actions in damages, risk management and the question of criminality. These are complex issues with great importance not only to society but also to justice and the current administration.
Nuno Gundar da Cruz is now preparing the publication of his article in the magazine Lex Medicinae.
