Regarding Miguel Galvão Teles:
Miguel Galvão Teles does not need an introduction in the Portuguese judicial field. Besides his expertise in Constitutional Law and Public International Law to which he has substantially contributed, practically there does not exist an area that has not benefited from the depth of his thought.
The scientific value of his work, as well as his personal qualities, justifies homage from the Portuguese judicial community, which comprises the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.
Miguel Galvão Teles, partner of Morais Leitão, Galvão, Teles, Soares da Silva, has broad experience in litigation matters, including appearances before the International Court of Justice and International Arbitral Tribunals. He is a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration, The Hague. Mr. Galvão Teles is a former Adjunct Professor at the Law Faculty of the University of Lisbon in charge of the Chair of Constitutional Law (until 1978) and former member of the Council of State (from 1982 to 1986).
In 2006 Miguel Galvão Teles received the “Chambers’ Lifetime Achievement Award” given by Chambers & Partners. He was also awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Infante D. Henrique and the Grand Cross of the Military Order of Christ.
