Rui Ribeiro Lima participates in the meeting "Urban Rehabilitation, the legislative perspective"

Urban rehabilitation in its legislative component is the issue in discussion in the second meeting  of the Architects’ Bar Southern Regional Section  (Ordem dos Arquitectos Secção Regional do Sul) in which Rui Ribeiro Lima, member of the urban planning and environment team, will be present.

Taking place on January 26, 2012, the session will be moderated by architect João Costa Ribeiro. Prof. Dr. Luís de Menezes Leitão, President of the Lisbon Property Owners’ Association and architect José Aguiar, lecturer at FAUTL, will also participate.

The discussion points of this meeting will be the following:

- The success of urban rehabilitation may depend on the legislation and on the regulation of the activity  and on; what gives ground to ensure that the juridical regime of urban rehabilitation realises its own aims.
- The existence of an urban land lease law is vital to dynamise the market, promoting the corresponding demand with the offer of quality
rehabilitated buildings
- Is the specific technique legislation of the project area, in terms of urbanization and edification, infra-structures, accessibilities, energetic efficiency and security, adequate to the exigency of the urban rehabilitation works that are announced?

The meeting begins at 9:00 p.m. at the library Keil do Amaral, in the head office of the Architects’ Bar Association. Entrance is free.
