Tiago Geraldo, a partner at Morais Leitão, is the author of an opinion article entitled “The Conspiracy Against America”, published in Sábado magazine. Throughout the article, the lawyer raises questions about controversial practices in the judicial system, such as untimely arrests, unnecessary searches and prolonged wiretaps, as well as criticizing the lack of effective communication and selective leaks of information.
Inspired by Roth's “The Conspiracy Against America”, which portrays an alternative America ruled by Charles Lindbergh, Tiago Geraldo reflects on the concept of “conspiracy”. However, instead of suggesting a classic conspiracy, the lawyer argues that many of the problems in justice stem from human factors, such as unpreparedness and lack of leadership, rather than deliberate and coordinated actions.
