The collection of digital evidence in cloud computing systems

David Silva Ramalho wrote the article "The collection of criminal evidence in cloud computing systems", published in the second edition of Revista de Direito Intelectual.

"The jurisdictional and forensic difficulties inherent in the collection of digital evidence have been intensified by the growing use of cloud computing technologies. The increased volatility of this evidence, due to the ease with which it can be altered or eliminated remotely by its owner or third parties, has emphasised the need for cross-border access to digital evidence and more invasive procedural measures. The provisions introduced by the Portuguese legislator on these matters, although innovative and effective, are not without controversy."
