Paula Duarte Rocha

Paula Duarte Rocha joined Morais Leitão in 2014. She advises the firm on matters regarding Mozambique.

Paula is a founding partner of HRA Advogados, currently MDR Advogados, the Morais Leitão Legal Circle member for Mozambique.

Previously, she was a managing partner at Ferreira Rocha & Associados (2008-2012) with an intervention that covered all areas of practice and the advising of national and foreign companies on matters regarding public law and tax compliance.

From 2000 to 2002 she provided multidisciplinary legal consultancy at the tax and legal services department of PricewaterhouseCoopers, cooperating with national and foreign investors.

She has been regularly appraised internationally b Chambers, IFLR and, most recently, by Who’s Who Legal in project finance.

Law Degree (Polytechnic University, 2001). Arbitration Course (CACM - Center of Arbitration, Conciliation and Mediation, 2002). International Oil & Gas Law, Contracts and Negotiations course (Association of International Petroleum Negotiators - AIPN, Institute for Energy Law of the Center for American and International Law e a Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation - RMMLF). Member of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) for Mozambique.

Portuguese and English.

Mozambique Bar Association (admitted in 2004). Arbitration Course (CACM - Center of Arbitration, Conciliation and Mediation, 2002). Member of the Mozambique Internationalization Committee of the Portuguese Commercial Arbitration Centre (2022 to date).
