Tiago Geraldo joined Morais Leitão in 2008 and became a partner in 2023. He is a member of the firm’s criminal, regulatory offences and compliance department.
His practice focuses on the area of criminal litigation, including regulatory offences and particularly on economics and finance.
He also collaborates within the areas of competition law, corporate law, labour law and tax law, regarding criminal or quasi-criminal issues.
At the same time, he advises corporate and individual clients on matters and legal cases related to fit and proper and integrity control, both individually and collectively, and from the internal and external assessment and reassessment perspectives, as well as on matters related to compliance and regulatory enforcement, in different sectors such as banking, capital markets, auditing, energy, telecommunications and media.
Tiago Geraldo regularly participates in conferences and post-graduate courses on criminal law and criminal procedure, misdemeanor and compliance. He has published several articles on these matters.
Moreover, he’s a lecturer at the University of Lisbon School of Law, where he’s also a member of the Center for Investigating Criminal Law and Sciences and a founder of the Criminal Law and Sciences Institute.
Member of the High Council of the Public Prosecution Office, appointed by the Minister of Justice, between 2021 and 2024.
