Carlos Coelho

Carlos Coelho has been working at Morais Leitão since 2014, where he is currently partner and Head of Innovation and Knowledge. He leads the team responsible for implementing new working methods in legal processes and tasks, with a strong focus on the use of technology (legal tech), optimising efficiency and internal knowledge management. He has actively promoted the use of artificial intelligence, automation and robotic processes (RPA) and the digitisation of legal workflows as catalysts for digital transformation in the legal sector.

Prior to his current role, he was International Director, responsible for the operational management of Morais Leitão Legal Circle's international offices in Angola, Mozambique, Macau, Hong Kong and Cape Verde.

Between 2018 and 2019, he was seconded to MdME Lawyers, where he held the positions of Director and Managing Director after leading the development and implementation plan for a foreign law firm in Hong Kong.

His previous experience includes roles at Linklaters as Financial Assistant (2003-2007) and CMS Rui Pena & Arnaut as Financial Controller (2007-2013).

In 2013-2014, he led a collective of freelancers in the field of sports betting, developing and applying an algorithm to mitigate risk factors and maximise the chances of success.
