Luís Miguel Monteiro joined the firm in 2000 and became a partner in 2006. He is co-coordinator of the employment, pensions and immigration department.
Before joining the firm he was a solo practitioner in the areas of civil law, labour law and commercial law. Luís Miguel has participated in several corporate restructuring processes and collective dismissal proceedings, providing advice in all areas of employment and social security law. He acts as legal counsel for several companies on labour and social security litigation.
Luís Miguel was an Assistant Professor at the University of Lisbon School of Law from 1988 to 2001 and at the Political and Social Sciences Institute from 2003 to 2006. He is also a teacher in several Postgraduate courses in labour and social security law organised by the University of Lisbon School of Law, Nova Law School, Católica Porto Law School and Instituto Superior de Línguas e Administração(ISLA).
Luís Miguel was a member of the group created by the XV Constitutional Government in charge of the preparation of the new Labour Code.
Luís Miguel Monteiro is often invited to speak at conferences and seminars. He is also the author of several articles on labour issues published. Co-author of the books "Código do Trabalho Anotado" (13 editions, between 2003 and 2020) and "Código do Trabalho – Três Anos de Jurisprudência Comentada" (2007).
Law Degree (University of Lisbon School of Law, 1988). Master's Degree in Legal Science (University of Lisbon School of Law,1995). Specialist Lawyer in labour law, title awarded by the Portuguese Bar Association in 2004.
