Vítor Pereira das Neves joined the firm in September 2020, as a partner.
He is member of the
corporate, M&A and
capital markets team. He joined PLMJ since the beginning of his professional activity as a trainee lawyer in 1996, having left that firm, as a partner, in January 2008. He was then one of the founders of AAA Advogados, having remained as a partner of AAA Advogados until August 2020.
A large part of his professional activity focuses on the
energy,
infrastructure,
real estate and
banking law sectors, having provided legal advice in several M&A and capital markets transactions, in the structuring and implementation of major projects, in the arrangement and contracting of the associated financing operations and in providing advice on regulatory issues, with special emphasis on the area of renewable energies.
He has also served as counsel and arbitrator or expert in Portuguese law and in the laws of other Portuguese-speaking countries in various arbitration proceedings, in Portugal and abroad.
He holds a PhD in Law from the Faculty of Law of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, since 2006. He is also, since that date, Professor at the same Faculty, responsible for several matters of private law (including contracts, corporate, commercial and banking law) and in the area of energy law. He was responsible for launching and for the supervision of the Master in Law and Management co-organized by the Faculty of Law of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa and the Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE) during several editions of the same course. He also collaborated with several other higher education institutions, including Universidade Católica Portuguesa - Escola de Lisboa and, in several postgraduate courses, with the Faculty of Law of Universidade Agostinho Neto (Angola) and ISCTEM (Mozambique).
