João Ornelas Camacho
Principal Associate
João Ornelas Camacho joined the Firm in 2024. He is a member of the Corporate and M&A department, as well as Team Genesis.
At Team Genesis, he focuses his practice on venture capital matters, advising founders, investors and high-growth/emerging companies in all stages of a typical life cycle (i.e. fundraising, growth/scaling and exits).
João has also expertise in corporate and commercial matters, advising clients in M&A transactions, corporate restructuring and corporate governance matters.
Before joining Morais Leitão, João was a member of the Corporate and M&A department of RRP Advogados from 2017 to 2024, where he was ranked as a key lawyer in Commercial, Corporate and M&A by Legal 500 EMEA in 2019, 2022 and 2023.
From 2013 to 2017, João worked at Abreu Advogados, where he completed his admission to the Portuguese Bar Association.
Education
Law Degree (Nova Law School, 2012). Master's Degree in Forensics (Católica Lisbon School of Law, 2014). Post-Graduation in Commercial Companies Law (Católica Lisbon School of Law, 2017).
