Mara began her career as a trainee lawyer at Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva & Associados (2014), in the
Banking and Finance area, with special focus in the area of project finance. She is currently a member of the Intellectual Property, Technology, and
Personal Data department.
She has a strong background in regulatory advisory, particularly in electronic communications, cross-border legal issues, and technology law. Mara is experienced in navigating complex legislative frameworks, especially within the EU and African regulatory landscapes, and has extensive experience collaborating with Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP).
Her current practice focuses on emerging technologies, including cloud computing, software contracting, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT).
In recent years, Mara has developed significant expertise in gaming and gambling law, advising a wide range of clients – including casinos, gaming operators and providers, and publicity and media content agencies – both online and land-based.
She also advises clients on data protection and privacy matters, particularly in connection with her core areas of practice.
