Maria Cortes Martins
Principal Associate
Maria Cortes Martins joined Morais Leitão in September 2013. She is a member of the firm’s corporate and M&A and capital markets team.
Her professional activity is focused in M&A, company law and capital markets. She advises national and foreign clients on commercial and company law and corporate governance. Maria mostly intervenes in M&A operations involving multiple jurisdictions, namely the sale of shareholdings, partnerships, restructuring processes and asset disposals.
Her practice is also focused on capital markets, particularly on the issue and offering of equity and debt securities.
She has also been assisting clients with the structuring and regulatory aspects of collective investment undertakings in real estate assets.
In 2014, Maria was on secondment at Euronext Lisbon at the Legal, Regulation, Compliance, Custody and Settlement Affairs Department.

Law Degree (Católica Lisbon School of Law, 2013). Course on International Financial Law (London School of Economics, 2019).
