Sofia Monge de Araújo joined the firm in 2023. She is a member of the firm's corporate and M&A team.
Her professional activity is focused in M&A, company law and capital markets.
She advices listed and non-listed companies on commercial and company law and corporate governance matters. Sofia mostly intervenes in M&A operations involving multiple jurisdictions, namely mergers, spin-offs, acquisitions and asset disposals, restructuring processes and partnerships, representing national and foreign clients.
Her practice also focuses on issues related to commercial contracts and corporate governance, as well as advising on strategic business issues in the field of company law in general.
In the field of securities law and capital markets, Sofia regularly assists in transactions regarding the issue and offering of equity and debt securities, including medium term notes and covered bonds.
Before joining the firm, she was an Associate and Principal Associate in the Commercial, Corporate and M&A department at Cuatrecasas (2018-2023) and was a Trainee and an Associate in the Commercial and Corporate department at Miranda & Associados (2015-2018).
Between 2020 and 2021, she was on a Legal Counsel on full-time secondment at Galp's Legal Affairs and Corporate Governance Department, where she worked on Corporate Governance and Commercial Contracts (B2B and B2C), mainly focused on renewables and Oil & Gas.
