Maria Gouveia joined Morais Leitão in 2016. She is a member of the firm’s tax team.
Maria has diversified experience in advising domestic groups and multinational companies, tax structuring, national and international tax consultancy, tax proceedings and tax compliance.
Currently, she is a member of the Portuguese Administrative Arbitration Center (CAA).
Previously, she worked in the tax division of the international audit and consulting company PwC, where she was Tax Manager, and at the law firm Advogados José Pedro Aguiar-Branco & Associados.
Maria Gouveia was also an intern at the Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union of the European Committee.
Law Degree (Faculty of Law, University of Porto, 2005). Post Graduate Studies in Tax (Coimbra Faculty of Law, 2007). Several specialised courses in Tax and Corporate Law. Certified Trainer (CAP) – frequently takes part in internal and external tax trainings.
