Margarida has been leading the most significant part of the firm’s work with the insurance industry, most notably in the intersections between corporate law, M&A and insurance regulation, covering a full range of expertise in areas such as corporate insurance, insurance M&A, insurance contract law, insurance distribution (including bancassurance), insurance regulation and insurtech.
Throughout her career, she has also been involved in some of the most significant high-profile M&A and capital markets transactions in the Portuguese market, including mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, IPOs, secondary public offers, takeovers and exchange offers, as well as on the provision of general legal advice in the areas of commercial, corporate, and securities law to Portuguese and foreign clients, mainly in the financial institutions, food and retail sectors.
Margarida was a teaching assistant in the areas of private law and contract law in the Católica Lisbon School of Law until 2017, having also in the latest years been invited to lecture on the subjects of legal writing, capital markets, insurtech, insurance regulation and pension funds law.
